Jia is currently a PhD Candidate at the Faculty of Law, Monash University. He obtained his LL.B (Hons) and LL.M from the University of Malaya and Peking University respectively. His research interests include administrative law and constitutional law. Jia co-authored a textbook on media law in Malaysia, published by Sweet & Maxwell Asia. His most recent publication is a case note commenting freedom of information in Malaysia, published by Singapore Journal of Legal Studies.
