The ANU Malaysia Institute builds on a long history of field-defining scholarship at ANU in Malaysian studies. Based in Canberra, the ANU Malaysia Institute fosters a closer relationship between Australia and Malaysia through research and dialogue to strengthen ties between Malaysia and Australia, as well as further the study and knowledge of Malaysia, both in Australia and globally.
The Institute enhances the work of the university's Asia-Pacific focus by hosting events and lectures from distinguished Malaysians visiting Canberra, as well as scholars from all over the world whose research involves the study of Malaysia.
Our events and activities are held in-person at ANU, online, and occasionally in Malaysia.
