Mu'iz obtained his Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from the International Islamic University Malaysia, where he was a Tun Suffian scholar. Subsequently, while undergoing his pupillage at Zaid Ibrahim & Co., Mu'iz developed an interest in the building world, handling contractual construction and arbitration-related cases. After being called to the Malaysian Bar, Mu'iz left to pursue a Master of Construction Law at the University of Melbourne, where he developed a further passion for research. Subsequently, he joined academia as a Lecturer at the Faculty of Law, Universiti Teknologi Mara Malaysia. He was the Resource Person and Convener for the courses Law of Contract, Law Relating to Specific Contracts: Sales, Credit and Agency, Construction Law, and Malaysian Legal System I. Mu'iz is currently on sabbatical to pursue his Ph.D. at the College of Law, Australian National University. His research interest is the intersection between international commercial arbitration with the concept of Law & Economics.
